We had our 12 month "well child" checkup last week. It was a pretty hairy experience. That checkup comes with three immunizations, plus we elected for them to get flu shots so they got a total of four shots each. They pretty much wailed, which was sad but temporary. Also, they had to get a finger prick so that their blood could be tested for anemia. Olivia screamed with that too, but Carter didn't even flinch. He calmly watched the nurse squeeze blood out of his thumb and collect it into a tube. What a toughie!
Here are their stats:
Carter:
Weight: 22 pounds, 8 ounces
Height: 31 inches
Head Circumference: 18 inches
Olivia:
Weight: 18 pounds
Height: 28 inches
Head Circumference: 17.5 inches
I'm so proud of how much they have grown. Olivia's weight has officially made the percentile chart. She has been at 3% (which is technically "off the chart" as "normal" children fall between 5-95%) ever since I can remember, but now she is in the 6th percentile for weight. It must be because she loves to eat!
