As aforementioned, Forrest is greatly improving upon the backyard by planting flower beds. The kids enjoyed playing with the tools too. Maybe they need a little set of garden tools (hint hint!).
Olivia doesn't like to share the rake. If someone gets them garden tools, please get two rakes.

Outdoor fun
This was a great weekend to be outdoors. Now that Olivia is walking she is really able to enjoy the backyard without getting grass and dirt all over her pants. Alas, she still loves the swing the most. She plays in the new "house" for a few minutes, then she makes her way back up the stairs onto the deck and asks to be put in her swing. It's her favorite toy. Still, I got some great pics of the twins playing in their new "house".

A trip to Lowe's
Forrest is building flower beds in our backyard. This would have been a one weekend project in our "pre-baby" life, but with kids everything takes longer than you'd like. Last weekend Forrest rented a tiller and tilled the land. Then the trees were planted later in the week. This weekend Forrest did some more ground tending and installed plastic edging to border the flower beds. We went to Lowe's first thing in the morning on Saturday to get the supplies necessary for the weekend's work.
Unfortunately I don't have pictures of Carter at Lowe's. Carter was riding in his dad's cart. Olivia and I got bored with following Dad and Carter around so we ventured off on our own and found our own fun.
Olivia started walking a week ago but she's still trying to learn the limits (or better yet, the "no limits") of what she can do on her feet. Every day she walks more and more than the previous day and spends less time knee walking.

Walking - finally!
Olivia has certainly taken her time in learning to walk. Perhaps it has just seemed like it's taken a long time because Carter started walking over 6 months ago. Alas, she just needed to build confidence. Although she hasn't given up knee walking yet, she is practicing her walking a lot. Check out those feet!

Nap time with Daddy
Carter only slept an hour today at nap time. Fortunately, he seemed so drowsy when we brought him in to the living room that Daddy decided to try and cuddle him. Carter went straight to sleep and slept another 45 minutes. He changed positions a couple times but mostly he slept soundly. Very sweet.

Kitchen drums
I realize this is just agitating and noisy to everyone but me. That's ok. It was so wonderful I decided to take a video of it.

Shout
I got Forrest some Valentine's chocolates and also one of those cards that plays a song when you open it. Carter loved the card. Check out this video of Carter enjoying the card.

Valentine's Day
I was in Dallas this year for Valentine's Day. As sad as it was to be away from my twins and especially my honey, I had a wonderful date with Ellen and Chris. Chris treated the two of us to dinner at a hibachi restaurant and we really had a wonderful time.

One wild weekend
Bop Bop and Uncle Matt came for a visit. Uncle Matt hasn't seen the twins since their first month of life so it was nice watching them interact. It was wild for a few reasons.
1. Olivia was sick. She had one of the worst days of her life on Saturday and acted truly miserable. I hated that Uncle Matt and Bop Bop didn't get to see Olivia at her finest, but that's just how it goes I guess. I took her to the doctor on Sunday afternoon and she had an ear infection. Poor girl. She responded really well to the antibiotics though.
2. An EF-4 tornado hit Hattiesburg on Sunday night while our company was still there. Uncle Matt and I were both at yoga so we missed most of the action. The tornado came very close to our house. Forrest saw it out the front door and was able to get the two kids and Bop Bop into our closet. Fortunately the tornado missed our house but it did knock out the power for about 3 hours.
3. Bop Bop seemed to have a pretty good weekend in terms of his mental state. He's started showing signs of Alzheimer's, which is why Matt was in town in the first place. He came for a month to stay with Bop Bop and take care of him. He definitely exhibited a terrible short term memory (asked me 3 times if we had remodelled our house, and then asked Forrest as well) but all in all he seemed pretty with it. Unfortunately, right before they left on Monday morning, he admitted that he didn't know who I was. It's very sad for Forrest and his family to see Bop Bop deteriorate.
Unfortunately the only pic I got of him with the kids was during a WalMart run he and I made with Carter.
Another activity was putting together a playhouse for the kids. Grandmommie and Pops gave us some money for Christmas that they wanted us to spend on the twins so we bought this fantastic playhouse. I took these pics of Carter exploring the new toy right after Forrest finished putting it together. Poor Olivia was too sick to play that day.
Also, of note, it took Forrest about twice as long to assemble it as it should have. Carter wanted to help every step of the way. Forrest obliged all of it. It really warmed my heart to see how patient he was with Carter. He knew that Carter just wanted to help and participate.
Here are the fruits of their labor!

Super Bowl party
The McMillan's hosted a Super Bowl party. The kiddos had a great time! I have no idea who played. In fact, I don't think we even saw any commercials. We just visited with the other families, ate some wonderful cajun food, and generally enjoyed the company of our friends.

Aunts come to visit: Part 3
Saturday morning eat/play time.
After this we all loaded up in the car and went to Veseley's nursery to buy some Little Jim Magnolia's. We had a wonderful time wandering around. I hope to add pictures of that some time, but they are all owned by Liah right now.
