Bryan's Wedding Part 4: Playing in the park

On Sunday morning the Wieds, O'Neals, and Lane's went to the Blue Hole.  This is a swimming hole along the Blanco River that we came to once about 15 years ago for the Ford Family Reunion.  They have developed a beautiful park adjacent to the Blue Hole recently so we enjoyed letting the kids play and doing a short hike to the river.  In fact, we had so much fun that we went back again on Monday morning, this time taking Grandmommie, Pops, and Deanna along.

Bryan's Wedding Part 3: Ford Family Baseball

It's a tradition for us to play a baseball game whenever we have a Ford Family Reunion.  I can't think of a year when we've had so many family members together for a game.  The only ones missing were Andrea and her kiddos.

Plus, as each year passes, we have more family members join in on the festivities.  This was the first year for Olivia and Carter to attend, as well as Hailey and James.  Soon that next generation will get to play too.

Bryan's Wedding Part 2: Rehearsal Dinner

Bryan's rehearsal dinner was actually a rehearsal lunch at an italian restaurant.  The kids behaved ok (not great, but not terrible either).  I enjoyed taking pictures of so many family members, especially the Wiedenfeld clan.  I miss them so much!

After we left the lunch, we went to a nearby Randall's to pick up a couple groceries that we needed.  They had this awesome car attached to the front of the cart.  The kids loved it, so much so that Carter refused to leave and threw a giant temper tantrum when we pulled him out of it.  He received his first (and hopefully last!) spanking in front of that Randall's store.  I'm not sure if I want us to spank our kids, but Forrest administered the punishment and I have to admit, Carter indeed needed something that was swift and severe because it was the worst and loudest tantrum I've ever seen him throw.  Ick.  Tough times.

But back up a few minutes to the fun times that preceded the tantrum.



Bryan's Wedding Part 1 - Getting There

Bryan and Karen got married in Driftwood, so we all found lodging in Wimberley since that town is near and dear to our hearts.  We had a wonderful time in Wimberley, but it required a very long drive to get there.  We left at about 4:30pm and it took about 10 hours of total car time.  Yeesh!

We stopped at a McDonald's in Picayune to let the kids work off some energy and fuel up on fried food for the long night ahead. 

Olivia's first haircut

Olivia got her first haircut!  I took her to Misha, the woman who does my hair.  I tried to talk it up ahead of time and once we arrived.  I told her how special this was and it was something only girls got to do (going to the salon!).  There was even another little girl in the waiting area who Olivia seemed to admire.  All was off to a good start.....I thought.

From the second we put Olivia in the booster in the chair, she started freaking out.  Misha and another stylist, Adam, tried to calm her down, but she wasn't having any of it.  So, I just held her and Misha gave her a quick trim.  She probably got her hair cut in less than 2 minutes.

 Once we got out to the car, she was all smiles.  I love her cleaned up 'do!
