Bike riding at the Longleaf Trace

I think I've already mentioned that Forrest bought me a bicycle for my birthday.  We tried it out last weekend and had a great time, so we headed back to the trace this morning.  It was a bit more of an ordeal than we wanted it to be.  Once we got all of the equipment unloaded we discovered that the trailer we use to pull the babies had a flat tire.  We then loaded everything back onto the car and headed to Academy to get a replacement tube.

I played with the kids in the backseat while Forrest shopped at Academy.

We headed back to the trace and finally were able to take that bike ride.

The twins and I had a little picnic after the bike ride while waiting for Dad to get our equipment loaded up.

We also saw Brett Favre on the trail.  He was walking.  It would have been cooler had he been running with a football.

Walking!

Carter can walk!  I of course missed his first steps because I was on the road, but when I got home on Friday evening, I saw for my own eyes.  It's real walking!

I took this video today.

Labor Day at the Lake - Going Home

They may look happy in the below pics, but that happiness was short lived.  We decided to try and drive home during the day instead of at night.  That ended up being a mistake, one that we won't make again any time soon.

Sunday pics:

I had to include a pic of my first baby, Evie.

Labor Day at the Lake Part 2

Saturday Pics.

Look at this adorable little foot creeping in to the picture.  I think that's Carter's.

Morgan loves to snuggle Uncle Forrest.

This is on one of the many walks we took that weekend.

These two had so much fun together.  I think they are two peas in a pod....a Longhorn pod.  :-)

Labor Day at the Lake Part 1

We drove overnight on Thursday night and arrived at the lakehouse in the wee hours of the morning on Friday. I sure do love going to the lake.  I treasure those weekends more now than ever!

On Friday morning I joined the Wiedenfelds on a trip to the grocery store.  The kiddos had a great time!

Later, Caroline, Carter, and Olivia played in the pool (unfilled) in the backyard.

Post No Bills!
My mother generously volunteered to take care of our kids while Forrest and I snuck off to a quick date in the city.  By "date" I mean a meal at the Jalapeno Tree followed by shopping at Bealls....and by "city" I mean Gun Barrel City.....yes that one.  We had a wonderful time.  Thanks Grandmommie!
