Quick photo catchup

Nothing special!  Just pics of the kids playing in the living room.

This is the box that cousin Lindsay wrapped her shower gift in.  The contents were wonderfully useful items like burp clothes, diaper rash cream, plastic spoons, etc....but by far the best part of the gift has been this adorable box!  We use it to store toys in and Olivia decided it would be a fun "sandbox" for her.

Caerter likes to help with the laundry.

Splash Day

Each year Parkway Heights UMC hosts a Splash Day for the preschool kids.  When I hear "preschool aged" I think of 4 year olds, but in this case it actually means "kids younger than kindergarten."  So, we participated and had a wonderful time.

It was an overcast day but still warm enough to swim.  Since we got there early to help set up, the kiddos just played with some of the beach toys before the swimming festivities began.

I love this next series of pictures.  Carter just crawled over to the pool and got in without any help.  He actually did this a few minutes before as well...fully clothed!  So, I changed him into his swim diaper and swimmie and then let him crawl back into the pool.  I was armed with my camera this time.

More pics of Carter swimming.  He hung out with Caroline who tolerates his presence in the pool better than Olivia does (which is why she is in a different pool, as you'll see in subsequent pictures).

Snack time (goldfish and cheddar cubes):

This is my girlfriend Jennifer and her son Cameron who is just one month older than the twins.  She's such a good friend to me and does a great job running the nursery program at PHUMC.
This is Caroline's grandmother.  Carter wanted to go to her so she took him on her lap, wet shorts and all.

Olivia started winding down by this point so we figured it was time to go home and get ready for nap time.

Carter's first haircut

This haircut was long overdue. I had put it off for a few weeks for two reasons.  One....I figured it would be either expensive (if I got it cut professionally) or a pain in the butt (if I did it myself).  Two....it kind of made me sad.  I love Carter's hair.  During his last bottle each night, I run my fingers through his hair and think about how it's the nicest hair I've ever touched.

Anyways, upon the advice of my girlfriend Courtney, we bought some sheers, put the tallest guard on, and got to clipping in our bathroom.  It was easy and painless!  I held Carter while Forrest did the actual haircut.  The whole process took about 7 minutes and Carter was still and patient the whole time.  Success!

Teeth

I was in South Dakota this week and when I got back I was greeted with two surprises (well three depending on what you're counting).  Two toothy grins!  Carter had two bottom teeth and Olivia had one.  I couldn't believe that they both sprouted teeth at the same time.  Must be a twin thing.

No pictures because it's impossible to get a pic of those teeth.  :-(

Matchy Matchy (again)

Grandmommie loves buying clothes for the twins and she found these matching outfits at Tuesday morning.  Fortunately she was able to get Olivia's in 6 months size and Carter's in 12 months size.

I had a tough time getting pics of them together as Olivia was much more interested in playing than in smiling for the camera.

Just another Sunday morning

Carter's outfit came from Grandmommie while Aunt Liah bought the patchwork dress for Olivia.  I love these!

Messy eater

I made some pasta with marinara sauce and italian sausage and the twins loved it.  Right now they strongly desire to self feed, which is important because it gives them practice on some important motor skills.  However, it's also creates a collosal mess (on them and their surroundings!).  Evie and Rascal learned quickly that they should camp out beneath the high chairs.

On pasta night, Olivia just didn't get messy like Carter did (but it's not because she doesn't know how), so I just snapped some pics of Carter.
