Texas Vacation Part 3: Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was exactly what I expected.  Jim, Sue, Christian, Lindsay, Erica, Brandon, Bryan, and Bryan's girlfriend Karen all came to the lake to join my extended family.  We spent time eating, visiting and playing.  The boat gotten taken out on several fishing trips, a few cruises, and one much needed trip to party cove to visit with cousins and drink some cold beers and lake drink (sans kiddos!).  Aside from the boating, we hung out in the backyard around the "pool", lounged in the hammock, and played cornhole in the evenings.  Also, Bryn and Christian got some tennis playing in.  Unfortunately I didn't get boating or cornhole pics, which is a shame because those were highlights for me.

However, I did get lots of pics of Carter and Olivia getting love from their family!

Forrest was about to inflict the claw upon Morgan, but as you can see it's somewhat frightening to Carter too.

Olivia and Bop Bop

Between lake weekends, we stayed at Bop Bop's house in Mansfield.  This was convenient because it was close to the office, as I worked Monday through Thursday.  Christine and Aunt Marge flew in so the twins got a lot of quality time with their family on Dad's side.

Unfortunately I wasn't around much, as I worked during the days, so I didn't get many pics.  In fact, I got no pictures with Dun and Aunt Marge.  However, I did observe some sweetness between Olivia and Bop Bop and ran to grab my camera.  I snapped these gems.  The melt my heart.

Texas Vacation Part 1

We're here and having a wonderful time.  We left Hattiesburg at 6:30 last night and arrived at the lake house at 2:10am.  Forrest was a trooper and drove the whole time, despite feeling sickly.  He took a long nap yesterday afternoon in preparation for the trip and he stayed caffeinated the whole way.  So, that enabled me to tend to the babies needs and also sleep on and off.

Today was wonderful.  It was a pretty typical day at the lake.  We were expecting Bop Bop to come out but he decided against it at the last minute. That's ok because we're headed to his house tomorrow afternoon to spend a few days with him, Aunt Marge, and Dun.

I love this last one of Morgan.  She's growing up so fast and is already such a beautiful little girl.

Mother's Day Part 4

Last weekend Forrest went fishing south of New Orleans with Mark, Russ, and Phillip.  They had a wonderful time and brought back lots of fish.  The four fishermen and their families, along with a couple other families, all got together at the McMillan's house this afternoon for a fish fry.  The real highlight though was the kiddie pool.  I took swimsuits for the kids but only Carter got in.  It wasn't a real hot day today and the water was cool.  Carter seemed very cold when he first got in but he didn't fuss at all.  He ended up swimming for about 15 minutes and he splashed and splashed and splashed.  It was a swimming success!  Forrest and I thought it might just be a little too cold for Olivia (I know, we baby her).  Next time though she'll be in the water with her brother.

Mother's Day Part 3

The twins nap schedule was completely uncoordinated today.  Since Olivia had a late morning nap, she was not ready to sleep when we got home from church, but Carter could hardly keep his eyes open.  So, after lunch Carter went straight to bed (!) and Olivia and I hung out for a while.  Then right as I started thinking about putting Olivia to bed, Carter woke up.  Sheesh.  Anyways, these pics are from this afternoon.

Mother's Day Part 2

These next pics were taken at the nursery.  Our family had to split up for church today because Olivia took forever to go down for her morning nap.  She finally fell asleep about 20 minutes before we had to go to church and I just couldn't bear to wake her.  So, Forrest stayed home with her so that she could nap then they met us at church later.

I dropped Carter off at the nursery and decided to snap some pics while we were there.

They were short staffed today so they combined the two nurseries, which is why there are some older kids in there.  Aren't their friends adorable?
