A day at the beach

Aunt Ellen came to town last weekend and we had a wonderful time.  We went to Hubfest on Saturday afternoon after she arrived, which is a festival downtown with live music, fair food, and lots of people selling their crafts out of booths.  It wasn't the best environment for the babies, but it was a pretty decent time and I'm glad we went.  That night, Forrest bought 10 pounds of boiled crawfish, and we had a fantastic time eating those.  Sadly, there were no pics of either Hubfest or the crawfish experience.  In fact, the only pics I have of the whole weekend were from the beach day, which was Sunday.  So, here they are.

I know I look ridiculous in that hat, but I was trying to protect my skin from the sun's harmful rays.

Falling asleep

I love it when the twins fall asleep at night.  It's very sweet to see them drift off in to dreamland, but I'd be lying if I didn't tell you that the main reason I love it is because....well, they're asleep!  By the end of the day, we can all use a break from each other.  Anyways, tonight I fed Olivia her bottle but she finished before Carter.  Because we like to put them in their cribs at the same time, I just let Olivia lie there while we waited.  She laid there totally still and limp so I knew sleep was imminent. Plus, the arms in the "I surrender" position are a dead giveaway.  I took these pics (shown in order) all within about 30 seconds.  Yay - the sandman found her!

Escape Artist

The bumbo seats are pretty handy.  It's a great thing to put the twins in when they are playing with toys or when we are feeding them cereal or vegetables. Olivia behaves like a good girl in her bumbo, while Carter does not.  He isn't unhappy in it, but he seems to always be trying to escape.

I like the pics below because it shows Carter's antics, but also because it captured Olivia's expressions while observing him.

Livy's pretty dress

Dun gave this dress to Livy and I think it's my favorite.  I dressed her in it for chruch and today.  Unfortunately, the folks in the nursery changed her into her spare outfit (NOT a church dress) because she spilled too much milk on the dress.  Oh well, I am trying.

Very lady like

Don't lift your skirt Liv.

No Liv No!

Jump Around

Olivia loves the jumper. I think Carter likes it too, but not as much as Olivia.  It delights her.  She lets us know by squealing.  I'll have to take a video of that sweet squeal soon.  For now, these pics will have to do.

I went out on a limb and registered for this jumper that hung in a doorway and I'm so glad I did.  This thing is great because when it's not being used, it can easily be taken down and tucked away somewhere.  It's not another giant contraption littering up our living room.
